In this video I explain how to use an Excel spreadsheet and MSN AdCenter Desktop to add Google Analytics URL tracking parameters to your MSN AdCenter text ads. I have included a free download of the spreadsheet that you can easily modify or extend for other Google Analytics tracking URLs.
For more information about Google Analytics URL tracking parameters please visit the official Google Analytics URL Builder.

This video and spreadsheet were a lifesaver for me today! I had 500 ads and around 7000 keywords to tag URLs for. Thank you!
Hi Dustin, you are welcome! Thanks for stopping by.
Now that Bing campaigns show up on Yahoo…what do you do with the utm_source=msn in the ad destination URLs
also I keep getting the #NAME? error when I try to apply the ad destination URL formula
Just for the record, I found that the source of the #NAME? error is URLEncode….I’m using Excel 2007. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Hi Chad am watching video but couldn’t download your spreadsheet because I have office 2008 for mac. It says I can use spreadsheet but must strip away all macros. will this make your sheet severely compromised?
Also just so I’m clear on URL builder if I have 500 adcenter keywords it is going to need 500 lines of code?
Many thanks. I’m watching video now so perhaps you answer some of this.
Hi Eric,
I’m really not sure about using this spreadsheet on a mac. In order to take advantage of the URLEncode formula, you would need macros enabled.
Good luck!
Is everything in this video and on your spreadsheet still current? I have a bunch of AdCenter ads to tag for Analytics. Is this still the best way?
Thanks!
Hi Peter, you should still be able to use this spreadsheet/ method to tag your AdCenter ads. Let me know if you run into any issues and I can tweak it if necessary.
Thanks!
